Battle Lines Being Drawn
There are definitely wrong folks here
Carl Schurz, a German-American political leader, added the last clauses to a motto used by Stephen Decatur, a US naval commander, in a toast given after the War of 1812, and it is in this form that most of us know: “My country, right or wrong, if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right.”
There is little doubt that we have a lot of “setting right” to be done. Just like Stephen Stills sang in 1967, battle lines are being drawn, literally. This weekend in Los Angeles all hell broke loose and The Felon King let loose the hounds on the the State of California, a place he seems to hate (it would be lovely if his golf course in Palos Verdes simply slipped into the ocean). This was not fire hoses and attack dogs, but it came damn near.
Calling out the National Guard has been a rare occurrence in my lifetime. I remember seeing units deployed during COVID lockdown, during the January fires here in the LA area, and in 1965, during the Watts Riots. Nationally, Herbert Hoover invoked the military to stop World War I veterans who came to Washington to try and collect on the combat bonuses they had been promised. We should all know that the President's authority to call out the National Guard is primarily governed by the Insurrection Act of 1807, which allows the President to federalize the Guard and deploy them under specific circumstances, mainly to suppress rebellion or insurrection, or when the president is unable to execute laws. The Insurrection Act also provides an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, which generally prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement. The act's goal is to maintain a clear separation between the military and domestic law enforcement. And yet, the twice impeached, convicted felon, throwing a military parade for himself (other than for celebrating a victory or an anniversary of a victory, military parades should not simply be scheduled), bone spur-suffering, head of our nation has unilaterally made immigration an issue when there is no issue.
Let me explain.
The force behind this immigration fiasco is Pee Wee German himself, Steven “the Evil” Miller. We all know the origin story that when he began high school he told his best friend who was Latino that they could no longer be friends because or the friend’s ethnicity. During high school he attended many Santa Monica School Board meeting to rage about the unfairness of diversity and/or special treatment. He pushed for the Muslim travel restrictions during the first of the Felon’s reign. He has now crafted a new one, specifying a variety of countries, and yet he seems ready to embrace Afrikans folks because the fearless leader may actually believe the nonsensical lies about their oppression at the hand of, well, non-whites.
The immigration attack exists in the world of hatred. The vast majority of illegal immigrants in this country came here to work and make money, often times to send it home with a plan of returning one day. What percentage actually make it back is something about which I have no data other than a couple anecdotal experiences I could share, for example, the kid who worked in the states and was able to send money home pay to install electric to his village in Mexico. Do many of these folks work under bogus social security numbers? Absolutely, but those withheld tax dollars go into an account that will never be accessed by the worker. Those billions of dollars are a windfall for the government. The administration wants to throw out millions of hard working people based on a rationale that these people are taking jobs from Americans…no, really. We rely on these workers to do the jobs that most Americans won’t do. Have you ever seen large scale agriculture? Who is it that is harvesting our food? Who is going to rebuild Los Angeles?
Governor Newsom in a classic rhetorical move (and an even better soundbite) said that he wanted to deploy the California Guard to arrest the ICE agents in Los Angeles, but he did send a formal letter to the White House asking the Felon to rescind the order. Hell, the Governor was likely not advised by the White House, and he certainly never called for the Guard. The ICE agents went straight to violent with respect to how they deployed an aggressive assault on garment workers. The President of the local SEIU, David Huerta, was thrown to the ground and suffered a head injury while he witnessed the assault on workers. Is this the start of our own Kristallnacht?
Was there a need to call out the National Guard? No. Nevertheless, wanting to create a problem, the Liar in Chief posted “a once great American City, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals.” He did not hedge any bets when he added “we’re going to have troops everywhere. We’re not going to let this happen to our country.” Playing to his audience, and without any basis in fact, he posted in one of his standard frenzies that “these Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers with NOT BE TOLERATED.” Again, it is as if he is a toy doll and when a string is pulled a few phrases are pushed out. Is martial law what comes next? Rather than legislate, the Liar in Chief wants to rule by edict. What he fails to understand is that the role of the President is to “preside” NOT to rule. One has to wonder how the Liar in Chief reacted to the LAPD Chief saying that the police would not be assisting ICE in its efforts. Thank you Chief!
If calling in the Guard did not provide enough of a horror show, Pete Hegseth, FOX News’ own himbo, wants to deploy Marines from Camp Pendleton. Suddenly, we should all be praying that there are still some generals that will make it clear that their duty is to the Constitution and not to a man. This is all for show, that is, to show what these clowns consider to be strength. Strength is something that is built over time, and that is gained thought both wins and losses. Rounding up people that are working, supporting families, and that have no criminal record, represents the apex of bullying. They mistake being a bully from being strong. Bullies lack character and possess no strength. They want a fight for the sake of fighting, or perhaps to right the wrongs of being teased as a child for being mean and separating away from any community. Pee Wee German, get over whatever childhood trauma made you such an ill-tempered, bloviating tool!
One cannot look at these actions and not ask why does the military needs to get involved in an immigration action, when the Liar in Chief would not call out the Guard when a mob invaded the Capitol. Insurrectionists that supported an attempted coup, one that threatened the life of the Vice President of the United States, not only ran roughshod through our history, violated that sanctity of members of Congress offices, but ultimately got a get out of jail card, literally. However, when people gather to protest, as is their Constitutional right, if the protest is against what Don Donny the crime boss wants to do, he creates a wild scenario that allows him to justify calling in the military. Did some knuckleheads throw stuff at the troops or the ICE agents? That is believable, but these were not violent protests, rather there were some reported isolated incidents. Yet how should one react when the federal government overreacts, which is what I see with the violent apprehension of people who were simply going to work.
George Santayana famously said that “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” The Felon may have never learned the past because when recently asked about the Declaration of Independence hanging in the Oval Office, said that it was “a declaration of unity and love.” Just one small part of the document shows the opposite: “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” Unity and love?! The problem we have is that not only does the Felon President not even know the truth of the past, he wants to create a new version of history that does not find any fault with the Confederacy, even though what happened clearly fits under the banner of treason; the one crime for which the Constitution set forth a penalty: death. Right in goose step with this problem, we have a movement to change history books (everything from slaves didn’t have it so bad to how to refer to January 6, if at all) to fit the narrative of a white nation.
What pains me the most, however, is seeing a leadership vacuum from the Democrats. A galvanizing issue has appeared and I don’t see anyone providing leadership on the issue. Roll up your fucking sleeves and start making trouble. As the great John Lewis famously said “Speak up, speak out, get in the way. Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America.” Amen. Now is the time; stop ideating Democrats and take action!
Are there issues with our immigration system? Yes. Does anyone want criminals or criminal enterprises entering our country? No! But you cannot throw out the baby with the bath water and yet this exactly what this heartless administration is doing. With more deportation and detention activities might some private enterprises that supported the Liar in Chief’s campaign be in for a windfall? The GEO group and CoreCivic stand to do just fine. GEO Group's PAC contributed to the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee and a pro-Trump Super PAC, while CoreCivic gave half a million dollars to the Liar’s inaugural fund. Returning to a recurring theme, he is a transactional beast, the Felon in Chief. “Only suckers don’t get a piece” is something I can hear tough guy Don Donny saying. Sure, it sounds absurd, but take a look at where we are in less 5 months of Trump-apalooza!
While hard-working people are being rounded up and treated like criminals (have these people committed crimes by illegal entry or over-staying a visa, yes, but they are not violent MS13 members or whatever other crime gang Boss Trump wants to reference) the Pardon President was at it again. Take the case of Lawrence Duran who pleaded guilty to Medicare fraud to the tune of $205 million and was sentenced in 2011 to 50 years in prison. At the end of May, Trump commuted his sentence. Again, a rhetorical question, but how to you crow endlessly about waste fraud and abuse, and then release the person that ran one of the biggest medical frauds in the history of our country? Wait, I better think before referencing “history” vis-a-vis this administration.
Speaking of history, the Liar in Chief recently claimed that he is moving ahead with 11 massive car factories; you know, bringing back all things analog, just like in the good old days when whites had all the C Suite gigs and women stayed home to keep house and make babies. But history wins again because it was President Biden who, in June 2024, signed a bill to provide $1.7 billion to bring back factories. We all need to make sure history is an accurate record, We have to hold the banner of the rule of law high. Yeah, you know.
Get up. Stand up.

For the record, it used to be that 2/3 of illegal aliens (that is the correct term) paid their fair share to the IRS. Yes, they filed and paid taxes (as they hoped that one day, they would have access to becoming legal.) Also, it was the NORM, that the IRS never shared tax information with any other information (like DOJ) that they could then try to impute illegality. Until now. On so many levels. But I digress. In fact, if illegals were deported before being paid or were paid below average wages while here, the INS (pre-DOJ) would go after any employer who took advantage of such illegal worker(s), recoup whatever wages were due, and send them abroad, following the worker. I just can't see that happening now. Especially, today of all days. #NoKings
